After the first oil crisis in 1973, our founders Jörg Schlaich (*1934-2021) and Rudolf Bergermann (*1941) were already working on concepts and ideas for solar power generation. Early on, they recognized that a sustainable, clean energy supply was crucial for a dignified existence. Therefore, a central focus of the engineering firm has always been the development of innovative structures for renewable energy systems. In 2009, this focus finally resulted in an independent company – sbp sonne.
